Solving Email Receiving Problems

If you’re not receiving email as expected, there are several common issues that could be to blame — from connectivity problems to misconfigured settings. Follow the steps below to identify and resolve the issue.

1. Check Your Internet Connection

Make sure your device is connected to the Internet. Try opening a web page or using another online app to confirm your connection is working.

2. Check For Mail Server Issues

Although rare, there may be a temporary problem with the mail server. If you email service is provided by us, you can check our status page to confirm if there are any known outages.

3. Test using Webmail

Login to https://webmail.isgdev.com and if email appears there but not in your app, the issue is likely with your mail client configuration.

4. Verify Mailbox Storage Limits

Ensure your mailbox has not reached its storage quota. If your mailbox is full, new messages may be rejected. From the webmail system you can review your storage space available and clear space if needed.

5. Review Incoming Mail Settings

Double-check your incoming email client settings. For those receiving email services from us:

  • Protocol — typically should be set to IMAP
  • Server hostname — must be set to secure.emailsrvr.com
  • Username — must be set to your complete email address
  • Password — must be set to your email account password
  • SSL/TLS Settings — you must enable SSL, secured or encrypted connections if your app requires this to be set
  • Port Number — must be set to 993 when using IMAP

Incorrect settings will prevent your email app from connecting to the server.

7. Check for Security Software or Firewall Interference

Firewalls, antivirus programs or network-level filters may block email connections. Try temporarily disabling them to see if email begins working. If so, add an exception for your email app or server.

8. Contact Support

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, contact your email provider or IT administrator for further assistance. Provide any error messages you’re seeing and let them know which steps you’ve already tried.
