Getting Started
Do you offer email hosting?
Yes, ISG Development provides reliable email hosting services designed to suit a variety of business needs. Whether you’re looking for a professional email address with your domain name or need advanced features for a larger team, we offer flexible email hosting plans to fit your requirements.
Can I use my own domain name with your email hosting?
Absolutely! You can use your own domain name (e.g., info@yourcompany.com) with our email hosting services. We’ll assist you with setting it up so your emails are professional and align with your branding.
What's the different between an email address and mailbox?
An email address is your online mailing address, like you@example.com. A mailbox is the storage space on the server where messages sent to that address are delivered and kept. You can think of a mailbox as a folder where your email resides, and the email address as the label on that folder. Each mailbox always has a primary email address assigned to it. However, you can also use aliases — additional addresses like sales@example.com or info@example.com — which deliver messages to the same mailbox. Alternatively, you can set up separate mailboxes for each address to keep communications completely separate.
Can I use your email hosting with multiple domains?
Yes. If you have more than one domain, we can set up email services for each of them or configure some as aliases of others. Whether you want to keep mailboxes separate or deliver email across domains, we’ll tailor the setup to fit your needs. You can also send email from multiple domain addresses using a single mailbox, which is useful for managing multiple brands or departments from one account.
How is your email hosting different from Gmail?
Unlike free Gmail accounts, our email hosting is private, ad-free, and designed for professional use with your own domain name — helping you reinforce your brand with every message. We don’t scan or track your emails for advertising purposes, and our service offers greater reliability, more options, enhanced features, and personalized support that free platforms don’t provide.
How does your email hosting compare to Microsoft Exchange or Google Workspace?
Microsoft Exchange and Google Workspace are powerful enterprise platforms, but they can be complex and costly, especially for small businesses that don’t need every advanced feature. Our email hosting provides the essential tools most teams need, with generous storage, strong security, and full compatibility with popular email clients — all at a lower cost. You get custom domain support, reliable performance and expert help when you need it, without paying for features you may never use.
For businesses that require enterprise-grade capabilities, we also offer Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 accounts as part of our extended services.
Email Plans and Limits
Are email mailboxes included in your hosting plans?
All of our hosting plans support email, but to keep your costs as low as possible, email services are billed separately based on the number of mailboxes you need. This way, you only pay for what you actually use.
How much does email hosting cost?
Email hosting is billed based only on the number of mailboxes you need, not on the number of email addresses, aliases or forwarding addresses you use. This helps keep your costs low and predictable. For current pricing and plan details, please refer to our Email Hosting Plans.
Are email aliases included in your email plans?
Email aliases are free and can be added to any mailbox without additional cost. They allow you to create multiple points of contact without needing separate mailboxes.
Is there a limit on how many emails I can send or receive?
There are no practical limits on the number of emails you can send or receive, and no extra charges based on volume. Each mailbox includes generous storage space, though keeping your inbox organized and archiving older messages can help you stay within your limits. Sending spam or bulk unsolicited email is not allowed.
What is your policy on spam or bulk email?
We take email best practices seriously to protect all users. Sending spam, bulk unsolicited email, or any kind of abusive or deceptive messaging is strictly prohibited. Our email services must be used responsibly and in compliance with our
Acceptable Use Policy.
You’re welcome to use our services to communicate with customers and subscribers who have opted in to receive your emails. For larger campaigns or more advanced needs, we can help you integrate with third-party email marketing tools and ensure your messages follow best practices and remain compliant with relevant standards and policies.
Do you offer email marketing campaign support?
For larger campaigns or advanced marketing features, we can help you set up and integrate with specialized third-party tools like Mailchimp or Constant Contact. These platforms are designed for high-volume campaigns, offering automation, analytics, list management, and compliance with email regulations. Our goal is to help you maintain high deliverability, stay compliant with industry standards, and maximize the effectiveness of your email marketing efforts.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my email hosting plan?
Yes, we offer flexible plans that can be upgraded or downgraded based on your needs. Whether you need more storage, additional mailboxes, or specific features, we can help you adjust your plan to suit your business.
Compatibility
Can I use email hosting with Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail or other email clients?
Yes, our email hosting is compatible with popular email clients like Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, and others. We provide easy-to-follow instructions for configuring your email client with our service.
Does your email hosting support mobile devices?
Yes, our email hosting is fully compatible with mobile devices. You can access your email on Apple, Android and other smartphones and tablets via IMAP, POP3, or webmail, ensuring you can stay connected on the go.
Do I need a special app to access my email on my phone
No, you don’t need any special app to access your email. You can send, receive and manage all your email using popular mail clients like Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, or any other mail app of your choice. Simply configure your email account with the settings we provide to get started.
Can I use your email services even if my website isn’t hosted with you?
Yes. You don’t need to host your website with ISG Development to use our email services. As long as your domain’s DNS can be updated to point to our email servers, we can provide you with reliable, professional email hosting independently of your website. We’ll guide you through any necessary setup to ensure your email works seamlessly.
Can I use Gmail for my email when my website is hosted with you?
Yes. Some clients choose to use Gmail or other third-party email services with their domain. We can help you configure your DNS records so email is routed to Gmail. This will allow you to use Gmail to manage your email, while keeping your website hosting with us.
Features and Functionality
What features are included with your email hosting?
Our email hosting comes with a range of features including custom email addresses, unlimited aliases, spam filtering, forwarding, advanced inbox filtering, automatic responders, and webmail access. We support popular email clients like Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, and mobile devices. For those who need more, we also offer optional advanced features such as email archival and Microsoft Office compatibility.
Does you email hosting include webmail?
Yes, our email hosting plans include access to our full-featured webmail, allowing you to manage your email account from any device with an Internet connection. You can easily check, send, and organize your emails through a secure web-based interface.
What optional, advanced email features do you offer?
In addition to our standard email services, we offer optional advanced features like Mobile Sync (for full email, calendar and contact syncing across devices), Email Archiving (for long-term message retention and compliance), and online editor apps for working with Microsoft Office documents and spreadsheets. For those who need it, Microsoft 365 options are also available. These features are ideal for teams requiring enhanced collaboration or needing to meet industry-specific compliance standards.
Do you provide email forwarding and aliases?
Yes, our email hosting includes the ability to set up email forwarding and create aliases. You can forward messages to another address or create multiple aliases for a single mailbox, making it easier to manage communication.
What is an email alias?
An email alias is an alternate address that forwards messages to another email address or mailbox. It doesn’t have its own mailbox or login — it’s simply another name for receiving mail. For example, support@example.com could be an alias that forwards to john@example.com. Aliases are useful for creating multiple contact points without needing separate mailboxes. They can also forward to multiple mailboxes or even addresses outside your domain.
Do you support distribution groups?
Yes, our email hosting supports distribution groups, which allow you to use a single email address to deliver messages to multiple recipients. For example, you can set up support@yourdomain.com to forward emails to all members of your support team. This feature is ideal for teams or departments, simplifying communication and ensuring the right people receive important emails.
Can I set up automatic replies or vacation responders?
Yes, automatic replies (like out-of-office messages) are supported and easy to set up. However, we generally recommend using them with caution, as auto-replies can confirm your address to spammers.
Can I set up a catch-all email address?
While we do support catch-all addresses, we generally don’t recommend them because they often attract large amounts of spam. A catch-all address receives all email sent to your domain, even if the address doesn’t exist. For most users, it’s more secure and manageable to use specific aliases or forwarding rules instead.
Security and Privacy
What security features are included with your email hosting?
We prioritize the security of your email and data. Our email hosting includes strong security measures such as two-factor authentication (2FA) for added login protection, SSL/TLS encryption for secure incoming and outgoing emails, and automatic spam and virus scanning for all incoming messages. These features are designed to keep your account and communications safe.
Is my email private?
Yes. All connections to your email — whether through webmail, desktop or mobile — are fully encrypted to keep your communications private. Unlike some free providers, we don’t display ads in your inbox or scan your messages for advertising purposes. Your data stays private, and we never share or sell your information.
What security measures do you use to protect my email from spam and phishing?
In addition to strong spam filtering and virus scanning of incoming email, we use industry-standard authentication protocols — including SPF, DKIM and DMARC — to protect both your incoming and outgoing email from phishing and spoofed messages. These technologies verify that messages are coming from legitimate sources and help prevent bad actors from impersonating your domain.
Setup, Configuration and Troubleshooting
How do I set up my email account?
Setting up your email account is simple! After registering for email hosting, we provide you with step-by-step instructions to configure your email client or webmail access. You can also contact our support team if you need assistance.
When I setup my email on my device, what do I enter for the username?
Each mailbox has a primary email address associated with it, but when your email app connects to our servers for accessing your emails, or to send an email, it will need to authenticate itself by providing the username and password for the mailbox account. Your username must be set to the primary email address for the mailbox. Thus, you must enter your main email address in both the username and the email fields when setting up your email app.
What's the difference between IMAP and POP3?
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) and POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3) are both protocols used to access email, but they work differently. IMAP keeps your emails stored on the server, allowing you to access them from multiple devices with everything synchronized. POP3, on the other hand, is an older protocol that downloads your emails to a single device and removes them from the server, making them only accessible from that device.
For most users, we recommend IMAP as it offers more flexibility and access across devices.
When would I use a mailbox vs an alias?
We recommend setting up a mailbox for each user who needs to send and receive email. Aliases, forwarding, and distribution groups are ideal for receiving email at additional addresses without incurring extra costs. This way, you only pay for the mailboxes you need, keeping costs aligned with the size of your team.
Do I need separate mailboxes to keep email organized?
Not at all. If you receive email from multiple addresses or domains, you can use our built-in email filtering rules to automatically sort incoming messages into separate folders within a single mailbox. This lets you keep things organized without the added cost or complexity of managing multiple accounts.
I am receiving email, but why do I get an error whenever I try to send email?
The most common issue people encounter with sending email is that they properly setup the username and password for receiving email, but failed to set these values for sending. Email sending requires connection to a separate server (an SMTP server), and to protect your account our system will only allow you to send email if your app is providing your username and password whenever it sends mail. Almost all email apps require this to be setup separately, as well as to specify that all sending will be done securely.
